ABOUT
Forte Catholic was established in 2015 to answer a few simple questions:
What does the life of a Catholic who is striving to grow in holiness, at any stage in that process, look like?
What do a daily prayer life, holy friendships, spiritual growth, getting connected with the church(parish, groups, individuals), etc. look like and how do we do that?
A total eclipse is as rare as an incredible episode of this show. Both happened this week! Taylor & Fr. Anthony discuss this week’s big event, Fr. Anthony’s silly injury & Taylor’s insight from his lived experience that might disagree with popular theology.
Guest cohost Ryan O'Hara joins Taylor to discuss honing the craft of sharing the Gospel, they test their skills in our "Freestyle Preaching" game and Ryan shares his journey of becoming a foster parent.
Taylor & Kathryn reflecting on the Holiest of Weeks on the Church calendar, explaining why we became Catholic & stick with it after all this time.
Taylor has a laundry list of things currently driving him into fits of rage. Allison does her best to help him through it. As the Lenten season begins to wrap up, join us in our suffering. Misery loves company! They laugh through it and Allison shares her classic fiery preaching skills to guide us through times when anger wells up.
LENT IS HAPPENING! The suffering continues in a true comedy of errors for today's two hosts. They commiserate about the last couple weeks & then play a brand new game to try and stave off despair. They close the show with a deep discussion about what transubstantiation actually does.
We're doing a Forte Flashback this week, highlighting our cohost Kathryn Whitaker's first two appearances on the podcast as a guest. These conversations were the seeds planted that eventually led to her joining us on a monthly basis.
Taylor & Kathryn do a Lenten check-in, discuss their differing views on the Gen Z Bible trend on social media & Taylor shares about how his best night ever at a blackjack table relates to Heaven, Hell & our spiritual lives.
Taylor shares about traveling to North Carolina for the GOF wedding, having a great time with dozens of internet friends he met in person for the first time & some new fancy food that made him realize he's an idiot. This leads to Allison sharing about her own wedding & some hilarious stories of her kids in Mass.
Fr. Anthony has convinced Taylor to watch wrestling for the second time, and this time it's a family affair! They also discuss "priest voice" and do some rare voice acting!
Why do Catholics have Lent? What are the rules and requirements for Catholics during this season leading to Easter? Taylor answers all of these questions and more with a discussion of the Three Pillars of Lent, the bare minimum requirements & some suggestions for how to dive even deeper into this season of returning to the Lord.
My friends at the Catholic Ministry Professionals Podcast invited me on to discuss the joys & sufferings for working for the Church. We discussed burnout, overcoming team dysfunction & more on this episode. Listen now on Spotify or wherever you enjoy podcasts.
My book review of Mark Manson's New York Times Bestseller
What did a Catholic find true, good and beautiful about this book?
This is a long-form interview with a friend of mine named Dan about his faith journey from growing up in a nominal Catholic family, to priestly formation, to marriage and now an "almost complete de-conversion from Catholicism." He shares his story & the things that led to where he is now.
Keith over at The Cordial Catholic invited me on to his show to discuss RCIA. This is the process that non-Catholics go through in order to become Catholic. Unfortunately, at many of our parishes, the process doesn’t turn out as good as we would like. Keith and I share our thoughts on how we can follow the Church’s guidelines for forming new Catholics a little better and be more welcoming to those coming into the Church.
I was thrilled to be invited on CatholicTV’s morning show “This is the Day.” They gave me an opportunity to speak about our mission here at Forte Catholic and I’m very appreciative of that.
Our friends at EWTN aired Episode 349 of our show on their airwaves across the world on Sunday August 20th! They started a new show recently highlighting the best Catholic podcasts called “Catholics Coast to Coast.” We are grateful to them for sharing our show with their worldwide audience!

In this session we discuss how the Catholic Church was instituted by Christ, exists to make saints and is God's love in action in today's world. We look through the Gospels to see the Church's origin, trace it's lineage back through the old testament and discover how it has lasted for 2000 years. If you've ever asked what Catholics believe about the Church, why we have a Pope, why we have priests or what it means to be a Catholic, then this is the video for you.
Our review of Spirited, the Apple TV+ hit Christmas movie. Such a joy-filled musical comedy with a beautiful story of redemption!
Thrilled to be the keynote speaker throughout the day for the Middle School students from across the Diocese. It’s great to be working with the Diocese of Austin youth office again! I’ll be leading three sessions on the theme of “Gloria” and speaking on the topics of the Mass, prayer, and our relationship with Jesus.
Thrilled to be invited back to Catholic Familyland after my first two events with them last summer. Their ministry is incredible and I am happy to be a part of it! Excited to join this great ministry and speak to their teens and young adults during these family retreats

Snapback Style Hat with the Forte Catholic Motto "Make Catholicism Fun Again." In Evangelii Gaudium, Pope Francis said "There are Christians whose lives seem like Lent without Easter." He is reminding us of the joy that the Gospel brings and I want to carry that message to all those I come in contact with. If you want to as well, get yourself this hat. It is a sure fire way to bring a laugh and a fantastic conversation starter.
